TARIC Islamic Centre holds Appreciation Ceremony for Khateebs

On October 14th 2018, the TARIC Islamic Centre hosted an appreciation ceremony for all the khateebs (Friday prayer leaders) who have delivered the Friday sermons at the mosque over the years.

More than 150 invited guests were on hand to show their appreciation to the leaders.

Founded in 1977, the TARIC Islamic Centre opened in 1991, the first of a two-phase complex of buildings built on 2.2 acres on the northeast corner of Highways 400 and 401 in Toronto.

Today, it has over 2,000 worshippers, a library, a gymnasium and a school that teaches Arabic and the Muslim religion. It also puts out a bulletin called Community News.
