Fundraiser for parents, three children who died in Brampton house fire
A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help cover funeral costs for the Brampton family who died in a house fire early Monday morning.
“This morning (Monday) at 2 am a fire in Brampton Ontario claimed the lives of 5 beautiful people in our family. Nazir Ali, son of Nawab Ali and Samina Ali. Raven Alisha Ali O'Dea daughter of Louis Felipa and Bonnie O'Dea and their three beautiful children,” stated Bismah Ali, the sister of Nazir Ali, who started the campaign.
“Nazir and Raven were two of the most amazing young people, who dedicated their lives to their children. They were loving, selfless, and empathetic. Nazir was a loving son and caring brother to his 5 siblings and Raven was a loving daughter caring sister to her 4 siblings. Their absence will forever be felt in our lives,” she added. “Our three little angels were their grandparent's pride and joy. Their smiles would light up the room as their curiosity usually got the best of them.”
The deadly fire started in a home on Conestoga Drive just before 2 a.m. Monday. The children’s maternal grandmother suffered severe burns and remains in hospital. Two tenants living in the home's basement escaped uninjured.
The children attended a school in the Peel District School Board.
“Counsellors and other support staff from the school board's Critical Incident Response Team are available to assist students and staff during this difficult time,” said Peel District School Board spokesperson Malon Edwards. “The board has also extended support to the school communities’ families.”
“As a family, we are devastated to lose two generations in a blink of an eye. Our homes are broken as we mourn a loss that we can never replace,” said Bismah Ali. “We are extremely grateful for the support from our communities and their leaders. We are also very thankful for the valiant effort made by the fire/police/paramedics to keep our family whole. Thank you.”
