Canadian Muslims Respond: Fundraiser for The Danforth Victims' Families
An 18-year-old woman and 10-year-old girl are dead, along with 13 people injured after a mass shooting in Toronto’s busy Greektown/Danforth Ave neighborhood on the evening of Sunday, July 22, 2018.
We are deeply saddened to mourn the loss of lives. Our condolences are with the victims and all those affected by this senseless shooting.
Let us maintain our strength as a city and community – we are #TorontoStrong. Together, let us encourage love, compassion, and unity and extend our support to all those who need it.
Islamic Relief Canada and DawaNet remain committed to assisting communities through their recovery from tragic incidents. We call on all Canadians to come together in support of the victims and their families.
Where the Funds Will Go
All fundraising proceeds will help with the immediate, short-term needs of the grieving families. No amount of money will bring back their loved ones, but we do hope to lessen their burden in some way.
Though this is a Muslim-led campaign, we welcome our friends of other faiths to also contribute. Funds will be distributed to the victims’ families by Islamic Relief Canada.
How You Can Support
Donate and spread the word. More than the donation amount, it is the emotional message it sents.
We ask for Canadian Muslim mosques, Imams, leaders, and groups to endorse and promote this initiative. Official endorsers of the campaign are only required to help promote it via email and social media. For media inquiries please email media@dawanet.ca
