Toronto mosque hosts interfaith iftar

An interfaith Iftar gathering that will bring together Muslims and other faith communities is being held this coming Sunday in Vaughan by the Islamic Shia Ithna-Asheri Jama’at (ISIJ) of Toronto.

“The Iftar, a meal for breaking the fast, provides the opportunity for community members to come together in an informal setting and enjoy food, conversation and fellowship,” said the organizers.

This year, the ISIJ Interfaith Iftar will be held on August 12 at 7:45pm at the ISIJ Centre on 9000 Bathurst in Vaughan.

“We are encouraged to take the time to reflect on the past year and think of how to improve in the year ahead,” according to the organizers. “One of the things we want to continually strengthen is our positive relationship with our neighbors from other faiths.”
