Ahmad Attia elected Chair of the Peel Police Services Board

Mississauga resident Ahmad Attia was elected as Chair of the Peel Police Services Board at its January Board meeting. At the same meeting, Brampton resident Ron Chatha was elected Vice-Chair. Both the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected by their colleagues at the first Board meeting each year.  

Ahmad Attia was appointed to the Police Services Board on May 23, 2019 as the citizen appointee for the Region of Peel. Ahmad was born and raised in Mississauga where he and his wife continue to live and raise their three children. 

Ahmad is a businessman and entrepreneur who has dedicated his life, professionally and through his volunteerism, to advancing community and social causes. With over 15 years of experience, Ahmad currently serves as CEO of Incisive Strategy where he has demonstrated deep expertise in crisis management, public affairs and risk management. 

Ahmad is a respected community advocate and human rights activist in Canada and internationally. He currently serves on the board of the Muslim Council of Peel. Through his volunteer work he dedicates his time to supporting youth mentorship, relief work, civic engagement and community projects.

Chatha, who served as Chair of the Board in 2020, was appointed to serve as a provincial representative on the Board in January 2019 for a period of 3 years. Ron has been a Realtor since 2008 and is currently working for a leading real estate firm in Peel Region. Outside of real estate, Ron has a lengthy history of serving his community. The Peel Police Services Board is the governing body for the Peel Regional Police which provides police services to the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and under contract, to Pearson International Airport.
