Halal Expo Canada Inaugurated in Toronto

Halal Expo Canada 2019, the first and only B2B event dedicated to the Halal Lifestyle industry in North America, was held in the City of Mississauga from October 8-9 at the International Center and drew attendees from across the continent.

“Halal Expo Canada was conceived to meet the needs of the fast-growing halal lifestyle industry and to fulfill the request of many industry players in North America to have its own halal trade show,” said Nasser Deeb, Halal Expo Canada Show Director, in his welcoming message.

”We are taking steps towards one common goal to elevate the standards of the halal lifestyle industry in North America by introducing the inaugural trade show and educational conference.”

“Halal Expo Canada welcomes local and international attendees and exhibitors from the halal lifestyle sectors of food and beverage, finance and investment, travel and tourism, franchising and consulting, pharmaceuticals and supplements, and fashion and cosmetics.”

According to the organizers, the Halal Expo Canada 2019 is intended to boost Halal business in Canada and give the opportunity for Canadian companies to learn about the Halal Lifestyle Industry and explore the hidden potential of halal lifestyle products.

The Expo included an exhibition hall that showcased businesses, vendors and associations in the Halal sector as well as a conference that included a series of lectures, panel discussions, and case study presentations.

“Canadian Muslims make up almost 3% of the Canadian population and they come from different parts of the globe with rich backgrounds and diverse cultures but many of them share a keen interest in various Halal matters and have a common concern about the disorganized state of the Halal industry in this country,” said Dr. Hamid Slimi, Chair of the Conference Advisory Committee.

“We hope this B2B expo will help contribute to organizing this very much needed sector.”

“We expect to see and hear from different businesses that are serving the Halal market and we are looking forward to listening to the invited guest speakers and presenters who will cover different topics over the two days of the event.”

“I’m delighted that Mississauga was chosen as the site of North America’s only trade expo dedicated to the Halal lifestyle industry,” said the Mayor.

“Mississauga is open for business. We are a place where people choose to live and work and where businesses want to invest and innovate.”

“When you hear me say diversity is our strength, I am not just talking about our people. I am talking about our business community,” continued Mayor Crombie.

“As a result, we are attracting the creative thinkers, innovators, influencers, and entrepreneurs, who are helping us stay one step ahead of the competition.”

“This expo is an opportunity for businesses to network, connect, enjoy a wide array of delicious halal cuisine and, hopefully, make a decision to locate in Mississauga.”
